Ambassador Gilbert Chagoury is an industrialist, philanthropist, and diplomat who has committed his adult life to the preservation of Christianity in the Middle East. Born in Nigeria to Lebanese parents, Ambassador Chagoury built several highly successful businesses and later served as a diplomat and advisor to governments in Africa and the Americas. He was appointed as an Ambassador for St. Lucia to UNESCO. He was awarded and inducted into the The Order of Saint Gregory The Great at the rank of Commander, and was inducted into the “Order of National du Benin” with the rank of Commander. In 2004, he was appointed Ambassador of St. Lucia to the Holy See.
