Bishop Julian Dobbs


Bishop Julian Mark Dobbs is the Bishop of CANA East and has oversight of the CANA clergy and congregations in the diocese. In addition, he is the Missionary Bishop of CANA and provides leadership to CANA’s ministry through North America. He and his wife Brenda, have made their home in Northern Virginia since 2006. Ordained in 1991, he planted three congregations and served as the rector of the fastest growing Anglican church in New Zealand. He was elected and consecrated as bishop by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) in 2011, and is a member of the College of Bishops in that church and also the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). In 2013 Dobbs wrote and open letter to the President of the United States calling for urgent intervention for persecuted Christians in Syria.
